ACTIVITY
Each day for one week create a drawing using a different and unusual material (not pencil, pen, chalk, charcoal, etc.). Use William Anastasi’s work as inspiration – both how he adds and takes away parts of the wall to create a drawing in his piece, Trespass and how he uses the bouncing and the tilting of the subway to dictate the drawing in January 13, 1989, 10 Minutes, 6B. Document your work and show it all together. What did you choose to draw? What did you choose to draw with? How did this experience change your view of drawing? Did any materials surprise you as good drawing materials or surfaces? Are your drawings site-specific?
