Description
Kevin O’Toole is a sculptor. The light streaming into the third floor room in the gallery provided the axes for this wall drawing. As a sculptor he seldom works from preliminary drawing (although he has done so in the past), but this is the first time he has worked directly onto the surface of a wall. The multilayered treatment (silver leaf, dry pigment, size and undertaping) edges toward a low relief sculpture.
About the Artist
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Kevin O'Toole graduated with a MFA from The Pennsylvania State University, and a BFA from Cornell University after studying at the Tyler School of Art in Rome. Kevin's works have been exhibited widely, and can be found in public and private collections around the country.
